The sun came out today!

After what seems like nonstop weeks of rain, today was gorgeous. Perfect day for the Northwest - right around 70.

Went down to F&B Farms & Nursery where my granddaughter filled a large flat wagon with quite a variety of plants for me to take home. Of course, I put a couple of things on the wagon too -- some thyme and Italian parsley as well as some gazanias for my terra cotta chicken planter. Leigh was a doll and planted everything all the containers up for me so I just need to plant the gazanias and the herbs into the containers that I didn't have with me.

I hope to get some pictures of the variety of planters tomorrow although the rain is supposed to be back late tonight. No complaints on this end as I enjoyed today.

Alex had planted up a black and red color bowl for her Auntie Linda because she knows that she likes the colors black and red. Was really sweet of her.

Par had BBQ'd a whole chicken and some asparagus in the Weber today and it was delicious. He really has a way with the BBQing and has even begun experimenting with herbs and spices. It was nice to come home to a meal already prepared.

I am thankful that it will rain tonight on my newly planted containers and maybe the weatherman will be wrong and it will be a sunny afternoon again tomorrow.

Why "A Gardener's Journey"?

I wanted to create a blog for my daughter, my sisters and myself to share our gardening glories, disasters, highs and lows through pictures and stories. We all seem to love gardening and this seemed like a great way to connect.
